Information on Submissions

Papers are sought in all fields of interest to the IARIW -- that is, all papers which advance knowledge about income and wealth. This broad definition encompasses the following areas: national and social accounting; microdata analysis of issues related to income and wealth, including distribution and poverty issues; development and integration of micro and macro systems of economic, financial, and social statistics; international and intertemporal comparisons of income, wealth, and productivity; and related problems of measurement and statistical methodology. As a journal with an international readership, preference is given to (1) studies with methodological or measurement innovations, and (2) comparative analyses of more than one country. Manuscripts primarily concerned with general economic analysis or with econometric or statistical techniques should find outlets in journals with those interests.

From Saturday 1st August 2009, original manuscripts should be submitted in electronic format to Editorial Express at the folowing:

If electronic submission is not possible, the author(s) should first contact the editorial office at the following:

Review of Income and Wealth
c/o Lidia Ceriani
Econpubblica
Università Bocconi
Via Roentgen 1
20136 Milano
Italy
email: roiw@unibocconi.it.

As of September 1, 2008, there is no submission fee for anyone submitting a paper to the Review of Income and Wealth. The managing editors reserve the right, however, to reject papers without referee reports of papers that do not fit the fields of interest of the Review, are too poorly written to be ready for an evaluation, are excessively long, or do not meet the quality standards of the journal.

Information on membership of the International Association for Research in Income and Wealth, which includes a free subscription to the Review of Income and Wealth, can be obtained by consulting www.iariw.org or by contacting info@iariw.org.

Online Early

The Review of Income and Wealth is covered by Blackwell Publishing's OnlineEarly service as of 2007. OnlineEarly articles are complete full-text articles published online in advance of their publication in a printed issue. Articles are therefore available as soon as they are ready, rather than having to wait for the next scheduled print issue. OnlineEarly articles are complete and final. They have been fully reviewed, revised and edited for publication, and the authors' final corrections have been incorporated. Because they are in final form, no changes can be made after online publication. The nature of OnlineEarly articles means that they do not yet have volume, issue or page numbers, so OnlineEarly articles cannot be cited in the traditional way. They are therefore given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows the article to be cited and tracked before it is allocated to an issue. After print publication, the DOI remains valid and can continue to be used to cite and access the article.

Exclusive Licence Form

Authors will be required to sign an Exclusive Licence Form (ELF) for all papers accepted for publication. Signature of the ELF is a condition of publication and papers will not be passed to the publisher for production unless a signed form has been received. Please note that signature of the Exclusive Licence Form does not affect ownership of copyright in the material. (Government employees need to complete the Author Warranty sections, although copyright in such cases does not need to be assigned). After submission authors will retain the right to publish their paper in various medium/circumstances (please see the form for further details). To assist authors an appropriate form will be supplied by the editorial office. Alternatively, authors may like to download a copy of the form Here.

Author Services

Author Services enables authors to track their article - once it has been accepted - through the production process to publication online and in print. Authors can check the status of their articles online and choose to receive automated e-mails at key stages of production. The author will receive an e-mail with a unique link that enables them to register and have their article automatically added to the system. Please ensure that a complete e-mail address is provided when submitting the manuscript. Visit www.blackwellpublishing.com/bauthor for more details on online production tracking and for a wealth of resources including FAQs and tips on article preparation, submission and more.

The style guide for submissions to the REVIEW is available here.
