Shatakshee Dhogde

Dr. Shatakshee Dhongde is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside, USA. Measurement of poverty, inequality and deprivation has been central interests in Dr. Dhongde's research. Her association with International Association of Review of Income and Wealth stretches back to 2012, when she was awarded the Nancy and Richard Ruggles Prize. Recent work includes developing the first estimates of multidimensional poverty in the United States since the Great Recession. Her papers have appeared in several leading journals including the Review of Income and Wealth, Journal of Inequality and World Development. Her research on poverty in the United States has been highlighted in national media, including the National Public Radio. She has presented her research at several national and international forums including the World Bank and the United Nations. She is a fellow at the Society for Economic Measurement and a research affiliate with the Institute of Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Ivan Allen Jr. Legacy Award and multiple teaching awards at Georgia Tech.
